KENDRA MANESS | Editor / Publisher
Kendra has always had a love of literature, particularly short stories. She grew up, book in hand, on the south side of Slidell, and attended Our Lady of Lourdes School, Salmen and Slidell High schools.
While working in sales and marketing, Kendra became a pet foster parent and discovered another passion of hers - dogs! This led her to a career in animal care, owning and operating 2 boarding kennels and a grooming center in St. Tammany Parish, while dedicating much of her resources to dog rescue and adoption.
A cancer diagnosis sidelined Kendra's career with pets and she began a 3 year medical journey. (She totally kicked cancer's butt!) Healthy again and with a new appreciation for life, she revisited her passion of literature and developed Slidell Magazine as a token of gratitude for her hometown community. In June 2010, the first edition of Slidell Magazine was printed.
Kendra Maness loves Slidell and is an active and vibrant member of the community she calls home. She is a devoted community steward and humanitarian who believes that the more you give the more you receive.
